INCIPICT @ OFC2017

Record presence of INCIPICT at OFC 2018, the most important world conference of optical communications (https://www.ofcconference.org/en-us/home/), which takes place in San Diego attracting over 15000 participants from all over the world . The Incipict team counts an invited presentation [1], three oral contributions [2-4], and the organization of a workshop (https://www.ofcconference.org/en-us/home/program-speakers/ workshops / when-will-we-need-to-stairs /). There will also be two sessions [5,6] dedicated to the Kramers-Kronig receiver recently proposed within INCIPICT.

INCIPICT presents Software Defined 5G Converged Access @ ACP2017

Software Defined Mobile Networks and Software Defined Access Networks bring programmability principle into mobile and optical domains. INCIPICT research on 5G Access Network proposes an integrated mobile-optical control approach with the aim of demonstrating advantages in terms of resources utilization efficiency.

A work showing energy efficiency advantages in 5G Software Defined Converged Networks has been carried out in collaboration with Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna, Italy, and University of Lisbon, Portugal. It has been presented at Asia Communications and Photonics Conference 2017 (https://www.osapublishing.org/abstract.cfm?uri=ACPC-2017-Su3C.1) by Andrea Marotta, a Ph.D. student at University of L’Aquila, who is leading this research activity within the INCIPICT project.

Wind Tre and Open Fiber Presented the 5G Trial of L’Aquila and Prato

On October 13th 2017 Wind Tre and Open Fiber presented the 5G trial activities that will take place in the cities of L’Aquila and Prato.
The 5G trial will involve Technology Vendors, Universities, Research Centers and service providers.
The Use Cases selected for the experimentation of L’Aquila strongly involve INCIPICT research activities. Among them:

  • Structural monitoring of buildings and infrastructures
  • Intelligent Transport Systems
  • Smart Agriculture
  • E-Health
  • Smart Security
